Combination locks

Cable locks are a flexible alternative to D-locks, made from steel cable usually sheathed in PVC or plastic. They wrap easily around lamp posts, bike racks or railings, and their generous length lets you secure the frame plus a wheel, or lock several bikes together. In this category you'll find models with 5-digit combination codes, versions with classic keys, and practical variants with hook-and-loop fasteners that need no key at all – also ideal as a children's bike lock or for quick stops.

When buying, it's worth checking cable thickness and length: thicker cables from about 19 mm diameter offer more resistance, while longer cables give more flexibility when attaching your bike. Combination locks have the advantage that no key can be lost – choose a code you can easily remember. Cable locks are the right choice for everyday and occasional riders looking for a lightweight, space-saving lock; for high-theft areas or expensive bikes, we recommend adding a solid lock from our bicycle locks category.
