Handlebar

Handlebars and bar tape are central control elements of a bicycle, shaping riding comfort, steering behaviour and grip. While mountain bikes typically use wide, straight or slightly curved handlebars, road and gravel bikes rely on drop bars used in combination with bar tape. Bar tape comes in various materials and thicknesses – non-slip and shock-absorbing versions provide secure grip and comfort, even on long rides or in wet weather.

When buying, pay attention to the correct handlebar width, clamp diameter and your preferred grip feel. If you often ride on rough terrain, a thicker, cushioning tape is a good choice; for sporty riding, a thinner model is often sufficient. Sets with two rolls, enough for a complete installation, are practical, as are different colours for customising your bike.
